Gallery Hours

The gallery is temporarily closed for renovations.

The gallery will be closed from
12:00pm -1:00pm for cleaning purposes.

Schedule applies while shows are on exhibit. Between exhibitions the galleries are closed for installation. For more information, please visit our exhibitions page.

Gallery entrance is FREE.  Donations are appreciated.

The Helen Day Art Center is delighted to welcome visitors to the Gallery. In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, we ask visitors to please help us maintain a healthy environment for all our visitors and staff by observing the following guidelines:

 

Timed Entry Passes

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visitor experience, Gallery entry will be timed and capacity restricted.

  • All passes will be distributed for a specific entry time between 10:00am– 4:00pm and the maximum duration of a visit will be 45 minutes. Please arrive no more than five minutes ahead of your designated time slot.

  • We ask that visitors please be considerate of the next time slot and leave the Gallery promptly after 45 minutes.

  • Time slots are currently limited to private parties only and parties of more than 6 are not permitted.

 

Health and Safety

Masks are Mandatory

Visitors age 2 and up and all staff must wear masks while on the grounds and inside the building. 

Physical (Social) Distancing

Visitors will be asked to maintain physical distancing at a minimum of 6ft from those outside your party at all times throughout the visit, including Gallery staff. No more than 6 visitors will be admitted to the Gallery at a time.

Exhibiting symptoms of illness or COVID-19

The Art Center requests that visitors confirm that you have not had any fever-like symptoms in the 48 hours prior to arrival. Gallery visitors who experience fever-like symptoms while at Helen Day Art Center agree to self identify to Art Center staff. If you feel ill, exhibit symptoms, or have had contact with a COVID-19 patient in the last 14 days, please postpone your visit. 

Out-of-state travel

Visitors traveling to Vermont and Vermonters returning from an out-of-state trip must follow Vermont’s mandatory quarantine policy (either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative tes)t. If you have traveled from out-of-state and not completed quarantine requirements, please postpone your visit. 

Contact Tracing

To enable contact tracing, should that be necessary, the Art Center requires that all visitors provide contact information when they reserve a timed entry pass.

 

What’s on

Dona Ann McAdams: Performative Acts is on view and open to the public. The Hands-On Room and Art Lounge are closed. No tours are offered at this time. 

 

Gallery guides and catalogues

Catalogues will be available for sale when visitors sign-up for a timed entry pass and can be picked up upon arrival. 

 

For our part, the Art Center will:
  • Ensure that staff wear masks at all times.

  • Provide hand sanitizer inside the Gallery entrance.

  • Engage in frequent thorough cleaning and disinfecting each day of public areas and frequently touched surfaces and objects. 

  • Post signs at all entrances and in the Gallery clearly indicating that no one may enter if they have symptoms of respiratory illness and masks are required at all times.

 

Questions

All Art Center staff have completed VOSHA training and completion certificates can be supplied upon request.

Helen Day Art Center works to promote a culture of inclusion and accessibility. 

We are wheelchair accessible. Our ramp is located in the front of the building (90 Pond Street) and an accessible elevator inside the front entrance to bring you to our second floor location. We are happy to provide large print materials or other accommodations with 10 days advance notice. We have wheelchair accessible restrooms. We can adjust the environment for those with autism or other disabilities that create sensory sensitivity. We use non-toxic and non-scented cleaners and paint in our galleries for those with chemical sensitivities.
